To every matter she handles, Shelly brings expertise in complex factual and legal analysis, a commitment to persuasive legal argument, and a dedication to her clients. Over her 25-year career as a litigator, she has handled a broad range of commercial matters, including a complex antitrust dispute between multinational corporations, a suit by a start-up company for breach of a licensing agreement, a life insurance dispute among family members, class actions against multinational pharmaceutical companies for antitrust violations, as well as employment litigations concerning wage and overtime claims.
Before joining Parker Pohl LLP, Shelly was a partner at a litigation boutique where she handled a variety of matters, including employment and consumer class actions, employment cases on behalf of employees and employers, and life insurance disputes. She has tried cases in both federal and state courts, in matters ranging from a trust and estates dispute to insurance and employment claims. She began her career at Paul Weiss, followed by several years at Kronish Lieb Weiner & Hellman LLP (now Cooley LLP). Subsequently, Shelly focused on class action work at two prominent plaintiffs’ firms, litigating antitrust, securities, and consumer class actions.
Shelly was selected as a New York Metro Super Lawyers for Class Action practice in 2019, 2020, and 2021, and for Employment Law in 2022 and 2023. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association, where she served on the insurance law committee from 2019 to 2024.
Shelly received her law degree from Harvard Law School, where she was an executive editor of the Human Rights Law Journal. She graduated from Columbia University, with a BA in economics, receiving summa cum laude honors.
Outside of work, Shelly is a member the board of directors of her synagogue, the Society for the Advancement of Judaism.
